The Architect's Clients
An architect had three clients in the same season. Each project was large. He took all three.
The first project ran late because he was stretched thin. The client withheld payment until completion.
Without payment, he couldn't pay his draftsmen. They left for other work.
The second and third projects collapsed entirely.
A colleague asked why he had taken three projects at once.
"Any one of them would have been fine."
"Yes. Any one."
