The Armorer's Discovery
An armorer made fine swords. A knight bought one, won a tournament, and credited the sword.
Other knights came. The armorer raised his prices.
At higher prices, only wealthy knights could afford his work. Wealthy knights had more training, better horses, more victories.
His swords' reputation grew — not because the swords had improved, but because his customers had.
The armorer believed he was becoming a better craftsman. He was only becoming more expensive.
