The Brothers' Farm
Two brothers inherited a farm and divided it.
The older brother integrated everything. His fields, barn, well, and house were connected by a single irrigation system. Water flowed perfectly when it flowed.
The younger brother kept separate systems. Less efficient, more work.
When the older brother's main pipe cracked, his whole farm went dry.
When the younger brother's well failed, only one field suffered. The others had their own sources.
