The Caravan Master

A caravan master led traders across the desert.

His rule: if more than three camels showed signs of exhaustion, the caravan stopped — even if the oasis was only an hour away.

"We can push through," the traders urged.

"If we push through and lose camels, we lose cargo. If we lose enough cargo, we can't afford water at the next stop. If we can't afford water, we don't reach the destination."

He arrived late more often than other masters. He arrived.
