The Collaborative Map

Cartographers worked on a shared map. Each could draw, but none could lock regions.

When a cartographer finished a section, they compared it to the current map. If unchanged, their work was added. If someone else had updated that region, they had to reconcile.

The map evolved from many hands without anyone waiting.
