The Fishermen's Signals

Fishermen on a large lake couldn't see all boats from any single position.

When two boats came near, they signaled: where the fish were running, where rocks had appeared, where a boat had sunk.

Each fisherman told a few others. Those few told more. Eventually, all boats knew everything.
