The Fleet Admiral

A fleet of ships needed an admiral.

Each captain was competent. But in battle, they needed one commander to coordinate attacks, to decide when to advance and when to retreat.

They chose an admiral by vote. In battle, his word was law.

"I disagree with his tactics," one captain said.

"Disagreement in battle is defeat. Follow the admiral."
