The Growing Forest

An old orchard was past its prime, but still produced some fruit.

The farmer didn't clear it to plant new trees. He planted new trees between the old ones.

As new trees grew, they shaded out the old. Gradually, the old trees died and were removed. The orchard was replaced without ever being empty.
