A healer couldn't test every herb for every poison.

She learned quick reactions that pure herbs never showed. If an herb passed the quick test, it was probably safe. If it failed, she tested thoroughly.

The quick test saved time. It was sometimes suspicious of harmless herbs. It never passed a known poison.
