The Impatient Farmer

A farmer had a new field and wanted immediate results.

He planted, harvested, planted again. No rest for the soil.

Three years later, the soil was exhausted. Nothing grew.

His neighbor let fields rest every third year.

"Wasted time," the first farmer had said.

But the neighbor's fields were still producing when the first farmer's lay barren.
