The Night Watch Patrol

A city guard tried a new patrol route.

He didn't send the entire watch. He sent two guards for one night.

If the route worked, more guards would follow. If it exposed the guards to danger, only two were at risk.

"Two guards can't protect the whole route."

"Two guards can tell us if the route is worth protecting."
