The Offset Clocks

A town had three churches, each with a bell that struck the hour.

When all three struck simultaneously, the sound was overwhelming and confusing.

The churches agreed: one would strike on the hour, one a minute after, one two minutes after.

Everyone still knew the time. No one was overwhelmed.
