The Ship with Two Rudders

A shipbuilder installed two rudders on her vessels — a primary and a smaller secondary.

Other builders mocked her. "Unnecessary weight. Wasted effort."

When a storm snapped her ship's primary rudder, the captain engaged the secondary. The ship limped into port.

The other builders' ships, rudderless, went where the sea took them.
