A stadium held thirty thousand people. All wanted to enter when the gates opened.

If everyone pushed at once, people were crushed. The gates couldn't handle the surge.

The stadium numbered tickets. Gates opened at different times for different sections. The crowd spread out. Everyone entered. No one was crushed.
