The Stubborn Suitor

A young man asked for a woman's hand. She declined — she barely knew him.

He asked again the next day. And the next. And the next.

"You are making yourself unwelcome," her father said. "If you truly wish to win her favor, let her miss you. Visit less often, not more."

The young man visited after a week. Then two weeks. Then a month.

By his fourth visit, she was curious about him. By his sixth, she was interested. Patience had accomplished what persistence could not.
