The Two Abbots

A monastery's communication with its sister monastery across the mountains was cut by an avalanche.

Each monastery, thinking the other destroyed, elected a new abbot.

When the pass cleared, there were two abbots claiming authority over both monasteries.

"Which of us is real?"

"The one the majority recognizes."
