Villagers posted notices on a shared board. Anyone could post at any time.

Before posting, a villager noted what notices were already there. After writing their notice, they checked: had the board changed?

If not, they posted. If someone else had posted in the same spot, they had to find another space.

The board stayed open. Conflicts were resolved at posting time.
