The Watering Hole

A watering hole could serve twenty animals at a time.

When predators left, prey animals rushed to drink all at once. They crowded each other. Some were pushed in and drowned.

Over generations, different species learned to drink at different times. Dawn for some. Dusk for others.

The watering hole served everyone. No one drowned.
