The Builder's Plans

A builder didn't construct buildings from imagination directly. First, he drew plans.

If a wall was placed wrong on paper, erasing cost nothing. If placed wrong in stone, correction cost everything.

The plan was written before the building. The plan could be recovered if the builder fell ill. The building proceeded from written record.
