A library received many manuscripts. One contained dangerous falsehoods — not mere errors, but claims that could harm those who believed them.

The librarians didn't shelve it with the others and hope readers would discern the truth. They removed it to a separate vault, marked it clearly, and restricted access.

Dangerous knowledge required different handling than merely incorrect knowledge.
