The New Lock

A locksmith invented a superior lock.

He could replace all the old locks in town — but then every old key would be useless.

Instead, he made locks that accepted both the old keys and the new.

"Wasteful," critics said. "The old keys are inferior."

"The old keys are in everyone's pocket. I must meet people where they are before leading them forward."
