An engineer designed a palace with a single water system serving every room. One pump, one pipe network, elegant and unified.

When the pump failed, the entire palace had no water.

A simpler palace had separate wells for each wing. Guests complained about the inconsistency.

Until the day the east wing's well went dry. The west wing's guests never knew.
