The Spoiled Goods

A warehouse received shipments constantly. Most were processed immediately.

But some shipments couldn't be processed: mislabeled crates, damaged goods, items with no purchase order.

At first, these sat on the main floor, blocking new shipments. Workers had to step around them.

The warehouse manager designated a corner for problem shipments. Items went there when they couldn't move forward. Each week, someone reviewed the corner and resolved what could be resolved.

The main floor flowed. Problems had their place.
