The Weaver's Bookmark

A weaver worked on a tapestry that would take months to complete.

Each week, she tied a colored thread at her current position and noted the pattern in her book. If the loom broke, if the threads tangled, if she had to set the work aside, she could always return to the last marked position.

She lost days of work sometimes. She never lost months.
