The Wedding Vows

A wedding required both bride and groom to agree.

The priest asked the bride: "Do you take this man?" She said yes.

The priest asked the groom: "Do you take this woman?" He said yes.

Only then did the priest pronounce them married.

If either had said no, there would be no marriage. Both had to agree before the commitment became final.
